Role Definitions

These roles are assigned at the Friday, June 13th 6:00pm meeting!

ACTOR

Age: 7 y.o. and up!

The Actors are called June 13th 6:00-8:30pm, the June 14th at 8:00am through the day. They rehearse with their groups all day, then the show they perform in at the Covellite starts at 6:00pm.

DIRECTOR

Age: 13 and up!

The Directors are called June 13th 6:00-8:30pm, the June 14th at 7:00am. They are given the script early and go over it with their Stage Manager to make a plan for the day of rehearsal. They set the movements of their show and work with the Actors. They decide how to use the props, costumes, light cues and the sound cue. On June 13th, there is a short workshop that anyone can take on How to Direct, where they will learn how to do this.


STAGE MANAGER (SM)

Age: 13 and up!

The Stage Managers are called June 13th 6:00-8:30pm, the June 14th at 7:00am. The Stage Managers (SMs) work with the Directors and the Actors. They are in charge of the schedule, keeping track of props, costumes, and cues, and they report in to the Production Manager. On June 13th, there is a short workshop that anyone can take on How to Stage Manage, where they will learn how to do this.


WRITER

Age: 13 and up!

The Writers are called June 13th at 6:00pm, and they stay at the OGCT overnight to write their play based on a prompt pulled from a random selection with a Director and Actors pulled from a random selection. They meet the Director and Actors at the June 13th meeting 7:00-8:00pm. Once their play is written, they are welcome to sleep at the OGCT overnight or head home.

Writers are then called to meet with the Director in the morning (7:00am) to go over the show.

Writers are called to attend the performance starting June 14th at 6:00pm (after hopefully getting some sleep!)

VOLUNTEER

Age: 13 and up!

Volunteers are called June 13th at 6:00pm. A variety of responsibilities are given to Volunteers, including: being in the various rehearsal spaces to help the Directors, Stage Managers, and Actors; Helping escort groups between the rehearsal spaces; Serving food; and more!
